Midget 18AA

Mark Montagna - Head Coach montagna@wildcatsicehockey.com

2008-09 - Coach Mark Montagna will enter his 18th season as a head coach in the DVHL.  Mark has coached at mite through midget over his tenure and has spent the last 4 years at the Midget Major level where he led his 2003-04 Major team to the Atlantic Districts.  Mark spent his playing years with the Wintersport Royals and ended with the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers Junior B in 1989.  Coach Montagna also played Varsity hockey for Archbishop Wood from 1986 to 1989.

Coach Montagna received his Advanced Level 4 Coaching Certification in 1995.

Jeff Montagna - Assistant Coach - jmontagna@wildcatsicehockey.com

2008-08 - Coach Jeff Montagna will enter his 9th season as a Coach in the DVHL.  Jeff has coached at the Peewee, Bantam and Midget Levels over his tenure and has spent the last 4 years at the Midget Major level where he helped lead his 2003-04 Major team to the Atlantic Districts. Jeff spent his playing years with the Wintersport Royals and captained his 1993 Midget team to the US Nationals .  Coach Montagna also played Varsity hockey for Archbishop Wood from 1990 to 1993. 

Coach Montagna received his Advanced Level 4 Coaching Certification in 2000.


Midget 18A
Tom Coyne-Head Coach -  tom.coyne@wildcatsicehockey.com
2008-09 - 27 years as a Head Coach in the Delaware Valley. Over the 27 years, Coach Coyne has been a part of various clubs which include, Old York Road Raiders, Wintersport Royals, Face Off Circle Glaciers, Hatfield Ice Dogs. Also over those 27 years, Coach Coyne has been a Head Coach for Upper Dublin HS Varsity, Cheltenham HS Varsity, and Archbishop Wood HS Varsity. Head Coach at Kutztown University for 3 seasons. Coach Coyne worked for 10 years with coach John Craig at the Philadelphia Hockey Training School before starting his own successful Camp Coyne. In 2001, Coach Coyne received his Masters level 5 coaching certification from USA hockey, where he serves on the disciplinary committee for the Atlantic District. Coach Coyne was recently recognized by the Philadelphia Flyers for work in youth hockey, and became the first recipient of the Flyers Hockey Hero award. Coach Coyne's primary focus is preparing local midget/HS players for junior and college hockey

Midget 16AA 1
Matthew Montagna - Head Coach - mattmontagna@wildcatsicehockey.com

2008-09 - Coach Matt Montagna will enter his 5th season as a Head coach in the DVHL.  In his first season Coach Matt led his 2004-05 Midget Minor team to the DVHL Playoffs as well advancing to the Atlantic District Playoffs this past season with the 16AA team.  Coach Matt also spent 3 seasons as an assistant with the Wildcat Bantams.  Matt spent his playing years on many District teams with both the Wintersport Royals and the Wildcats.  Coach Matt holds the distinct honor of being the first person to both play and coach in the Wildcats Organization.  Coach Montagna also played Varsity hockey for William Tennent High School from 1997 to 1999.

Coach Montagna received his Advanced Level 4  Coaching Certification in 2000 and graduated from Temple University in 2002.  He continues to work with young adults off the ice in our community as a High School teacher in the Souderton School District.

Bill George - Assistant Coach

2008-09 - Coach Bill George will be entering his 3rd  year with the Wildcats 16AA team. Bill’s extensive playing career started in the DVHL where he ended his Midget playing days with the Wildcats in the year 2000. He also played four years of Varsity hockey at William Tennent High School from 1996-2000. Coach Bill went onto to play 5 years at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he served has the captain for his final 4 seasons while leading them to the ACHA National Tournament in three of those years.

Midget 16AA 2
Glenn DeStefano - Head Coach - gdestefano@wildcatsicehockey.com 
2008-09  Coach DeStefano returns this season to begin his 3rd season with the Wildcats.  He grew up in NJ, and attended Penn State University where he played 4 yrs of Varsity Hockey.  After graduating he stayed on with the team to serve as an assistant coach. He also coached at the popular Penn State University hockey camp for 2 yrs.
 
Glenn has coached at various levels from squirt to HS over the last 25 years,
most recently at the Wildcats Bantam A level.
 

Midget 16A

Bantam AA
Mike Greenhalgh - Head Coach - mikeg@wildcatsicehockey.com 

2008-09 - Coach Greenhalgh returns this year to begin his 4th season with the Wildcats.  In his first season with the Wildcats Coach Greenhalgh led his Squirt AA team to a DVHL Championship and has advanced to the Atlantic District tournament in 2006 and 2007.


Bantam A
William Kolar - Co- Coach - william.kolar@wildcatsicehockey.com
2008-2009 - Coach Kolar has coached in the area for the last five years, the last four in Travel programs and at CB East.  Having played High School and Junior Hockey in New England, William went west to play at the University of Denver.

Charlie Hoffman - Co-Coach - charlie.hoffman@wildcatsicehockey.com
2008-2009 - Coach Hoffmann is entering his first year with the Wildcats. This past season Charlie was the Assistant Head Coach of the Glaciers Bantam A, providing direct assistance with the offense while overseeing overall team operations. In addition, Charlie was the Head Coach of the Upper Dublin Middle School A team leading them to the 2007-2008 SHSHL regular season title and the 2007-2008 SHSHL Middle School championship, for the first time in school history. Currently, Charlie is Director of Upper Dublin Middle School Hockey.

Coach Hoffmann received his Level 3 Coaching Certification in 2007 and will be Advanced Level 4 in 2008.
 
 

Peewee A
Joe Chimera- Head Coach - nick12197@yahoo.com  
2008-2009 - Coach Chimera is entering his 2nd season with the Wildcats and was Assistant Coach of the Squirt AA team in 2007-08.  Prior to Wildcats he  head coached for 3 seasons at the Mite and Squirt levels.  Originally from the Buffalo, NY area, he played hockey at various levels including High School and State County Leagues.  His hockey experience extends over 30 years and he still enjoys playing in local area men's leagues. His goals are to teach and instill the love for the game in his players so they will continue to play and enjoy the sport for a lifetime.
 
Coach Chimera received his Level 3 Coaching Certification in 2007 and will be Level 4 certified in 2008

 
Squirt  AA
Ken Doak - Head Coach - ken.doak@wildcatsicehockey.com
2008-09 Coach Doak enters his 2nd season with the Wildcats.  In the 2007 season Ken led his team to a second place finish in the DVHL with a 16-1-2 record.  Ken brings a lot of enthusiasm to the club as he loves to teach and play the game of Hockey. Ken's goals are to instill teamwork and self confidence as well as having fun.

Ken will be assisted this year by Charlie Pens of American Hockey Schools, Charlie is a power skating instructor who brings years of expertise in teaching the dynamics of skating and stick handling.
