Midget 18AA

Matthew Montagna - Head Coach - mattmontagna@wildcatsicehockey.com

2011-12 - Coach Matt Montagna will enter his 8th season as a Head Coach in the DVHL and his 3rd as head coach of the Midget Major 18AA.  In 2010, Matt led his Midget Major team to the Eastern Pennsylvania Championship and the US National Tournament Quarterfinals, and he holds the distinct honor of being the first coach in the history of the club to do so. In his first season, Coach Matt led his 2004-05 Midget Minor team to the DVHL Playoffs. Over the last five years Matt’s teams have a combined record of 86-25-12 in league play with two DVHL Playoff  (2010 and 2011) and two Atlantic District Playoff appearances( 2007 and 2010). In 2009 and again in 2010 his teams won the Philadelphia Silver Stick championships and made trips to the International Silver Sticks Finals in Newmarket and Sarnia, Ontario ending as semi-finalist in 2010. Coach Matt also spent 3 seasons as an assistant with the Wildcat Bantams.  Matt spent his playing years on many District teams with both the Wintersport Royals and the Wildcats and is the first person to both play and coach in the Wildcats Organization.  Coach Montagna also played Varsity hockey for William Tennent High School from 1997 to 1999.

Coach Montagna received his Advanced Level 4 Coaching Certification in 2000 and graduated from Temple University in 2004.  He continues to work with young adults off the ice in our community as a High School teacher in the Souderton School District where he is also the Varsity Head Coach.

Bill George - Assistant Coach - bill.george@wildcatsicehockey.com

2011-12 Coach Bill George will be entering his 6th year with the Wildcats and the Wildcats Midget Program. Bill’s extensive playing career started in the DVHL where he ended his Midget playing days with the Wildcats in the year 2000. He also played four years of Varsity hockey at William Tennent High School from 1996-2000. Coach Bill went onto to play 5 years at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he served has the captain for his final 4 seasons while leading them to the ACHA National Tournament in three of those years.

 

Midget 18A Maroon
Chris Seamens - Head Coach - chris.seamens@wildcatsicehockey.com
2011-12 Coach Seamens has been coaching for clubs and rinks for many years in the Philadelphia and Washington DC areas. Chris will start his 3rd season with the Wildcats Midget Program after previous coaching positions with the Old York Road Raiders where he served as the Midget 16A2 coach and the Bantam A coach in 2006-07, he is also the Upper School Head Coach with Chestnut Hill Academy. In previous years, Chris has coached for various local club teams including the Little Flyers Girls 16U, Univ. of Pennsylvania Women’s team, a coach for AAHA’s Chicago Showcase Girls team and with the Princeton Tiger Lilies Girls 16U. He has also been a Hockey and Program Director for local rinks.

Coach Seamens is an Advanced Level 4 accredited coach.
 

 
Midget 16AA
Jeff Montagna - Head Coach - jmontagna@wildcatsicehockey.com

2011-12- Coach Jeff Montagna will enter his 13th season as a Coach in the DVHL, In 2010 Jeff led his team to the Atlantic District Championship finals.  Jeff has coached at the Peewee, Bantam and Midget Minor/Major Levels over his tenure and has spent the last 5 years at the Midget Minor level.  

Jeff spent his playing years with the Wintersport Royals and captained his 1993 Midget team to the US Nationals .  Coach Montagna also played Varsity hockey for Archbishop Wood from 1990 to 1993. 

Coach Montagna received his Advanced Level 4 Coaching Certification in 2000.

Mark Montagna - Assistant Coach montagna@wildcatsicehockey.com

2011-12 - Coach Mark Montagna will enter his 21st season as a coach in the DVHL.  Mark has coached at mite through midget over his tenure and spent 6 years at the Midget Major level where he led his 2003-04 Major team to the Atlantic Districts.  He has spent the last two years at the midget minor level.  Mark spent his playing years with the Wintersport Royals and ended with the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers Junior B in 1989.  Coach Montagna also played Varsity hockey for Archbishop Wood from 1986 to 1989.

Coach Montagna received his Advanced Level 4 Coaching Certification in 1995.


Midget 16A
John Fields - Head Coach john.fields@wildcatsicehockey.com

2011-12 Coach John Fields has been coaching for 25 years and has worked with teams from Mini Mite to Junior "B" and will enter his 2nd season with the Wildcats. Over the years John has coached many teams to districts, Silver Sticks Championships and has been to the US Nationals with the Philadelphia Little Flyers Junior "B" as an assistant.

Coach Fields has held positions with Tier 1, Tier 2 and High School Varsity teams which include the Philadelphia Little. Flyers, Valley Forge Minutemen, Old York Road, CEC, Germantown Academy and Pennsbury High School.

Bantam AA
Eric Tye-Head Coach - etye@wildcatsicehockey.com
2011-12  -
Coach Tye will be entering his 20th season in coaching.  He is an advanced certified coach with USA Hockey and is currently the head coach at Council Rock North High School. 

Eric spent his playing career with the Wintersport Royals and played 4 years of Varsity Hockey at Archbishop Wood.  Coach Tye also played played his college hockey at Elmira College in New York state.

 


Bantam A
Ken Doak - Head Coach - ken.doak@wildcatsicehockey.com
2011
-12 Coach Doak enters his 5th season with the Wildcats.  In the 2007 season Ken led his team to a second place finish in the DVHL with a 16-1-2 record.  Ken brings a lot of enthusiasm to the club as he loves to teach and play the game of Hockey. Ken's goals are to instill teamwork and self confidence as well as having fun.

Tom Coyne-Assistant Coach -  tom.coyne@wildcatsicehockey.com
2011-12- 29 years as a Head Coach in the Delaware Valley. Over the 29 years, Coach Coyne has been a part of various clubs which include, Old York Road Raiders, Wintersport Royals, Face Off Circle Glaciers, Hatfield Ice Dogs. Also over those 29 years, Coach Coyne has been a Head Coach for Upper Dublin HS Varsity, Cheltenham HS Varsity, and Archbishop Wood HS Varsity. Head Coach at Kutztown University for 3 seasons. Coach Coyne worked for 10 years with coach John Craig at the Philadelphia Hockey Training School before starting his own successful Camp Coyne. In 2001, Coach Coyne received his Masters level 5 coaching certification from USA hockey, where he serves on the disciplinary committee for the Atlantic District. Coach Coyne was recently recognized by the Philadelphia Flyers for work in youth hockey, and became the first recipient of the Flyers Hockey Hero award. Coach Coyne's primary focus is preparing local midget/HS players for junior and college hockey
 


Peewee AA
Steve Karl - Head Coach -  stephen.karl@wildcatsicehockey.com

-12 - Coach Karl is entering his 5th season of coaching in the DVHL. Steve played his youth hockey for the Glaciers and Jr. Flyers. He is a Graduate of Council Rock High School where he captained his team to the Flyers Cup Championship in 1988. He was twice named Bucks County Courier Times player of the year. He also played New Hampton Prep School in New Hampshire as a Post-Graduate. He played collegiate hockey at New Hampshire College (now the University of Southern New Hampshire) and won team MVP in 1991-92. He played at NHC for 3 years before transferring to play his final year at Penn State University. His coaching career began as an assistant under Paul Gilligan at Council Rock North High School where he coached for 10 years. He has also was an assistant coach for West Windsor - Plainsboro High School in Plainsboro NJ. Steve also helped out as an instructor at the Penn State University hockey camp under Joe Batista during his time at Penn State.
   

 
Peewee A
Jeff Moffat- Head Coach jeff.moffat@wildcatsicehockey.com
2011-12 -
Coach Moffat is entering his 4th year of coaching in the DVHL. His first two seasons were with the Wintersport Royals (2008-2010) and this past season as coach of the Warwick Wildcats Squirt A team (2010-2011). Coach Moffat played his minor hockey for the Wintersport Royals (squirt thru midget). He finished at the Jr.B level with the Glaciers. Coach Moffat also played varsity hockey for Upper Moreland and Penn State.
Matt George - Assistant Coach matt.george@wildcatsicehockey.com
2011-12 - Matt is entering his third year as a coach with the Wildcats organization.  He has 15 years of hockey experience and played youth hockey with the Glaciers in the DVHL and high school hockey at William Tennent High School.  Matt was a 4 year varsity player and the team went to the playoffs 3 out of 4 years.  Matt brings a lot of passion, enthusiasm and dedication and gets great enjoyment from teaching the game and working with kids.  Matt coached Bantams last year and is looking forward to teaching the younger aged Squirts this year.
