2010

Matthew Montagna - Head Coach - matt.montagna@wildcatsicehockey.com

2012-2013 - Coach Matt Montagna will enter his 9th season as a Head Coach in the DVHL and his 4th as head coach of the Midget Major 18AA.  In 2010, Matt led his Midget Major team to the Eastern Pennsylvania Championship and the US National Championship Quarterfinals, and he holds the distinct honor of being the first coach in the history of the club to do so. In his first season, Coach Matt led his 2004-05 Midget Minor team to the DVHL Playoffs. Over the last six years Matt’s teams have a combined record of 94-38-13 in league play with two DVHL Playoff  (2010 and 2011) and two Atlantic District Playoff appearances( 2007 and 2010). In 2009 and again in 2010 his teams won the Philadelphia Silver Stick championships and made trips to the International Silver Sticks Finals in Newmarket and Sarnia, Ontario ending as semi-finalist in 2010. Coach Matt also spent 3 seasons as an assistant with the Wildcat Bantams.  Matt spent his playing years on many District teams with both the Wintersport Royals and the Wildcats and is the first person to both play and coach in the Wildcats Organization.  Coach Montagna also played Varsity hockey for William Tennent High School from 1997 to 1999.

Coach Montagna received his Advanced Level 4 Coaching Certification in 2000 and graduated from Temple University in 2004.  He continues to work with young adults off the ice in our community as a High School teacher in the Souderton School District where he is also the Varsity Head Coach.

   
  Mark Sliwka - Assistant Coach - mark.sliwka@wildcatsicehockey.com 
 

2012-2013 - This is Coach Sliwka's first season with Wildcats. Mark played with the organization from 2004-07, and was a two time captain and MVP.  He played four years of varsity hockey with Archbishop Wood and four years at Kutztown University.

Mark is currently Science teach at Penn Wood High School in Delaware.  He has also taught at Archbishop Wood and McDevitt High School.  Mark is also the head coach of the girls JV soft ball team at Plymouth Whitemarsh High Scool.

2012-2013 Coach Bill George will be entering his 7th year with the Wildcats and the Wildcats Midget Program. Bill’s extensive playing career started in the DVHL where he ended his Midget playing days with the Wildcats in the year 2000. He also played four years of Varsity hockey at William Tennent High School from 1996-2000. Coach Bill went onto to play 5 years at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he served has the captain for his final 4 seasons while leading them to the ACHA National Tournament in three of those years.

2012-2013-Coach D'Aurizio is a graduate of Rider University in 2010 where he played 4 years of College Ice Hockey, Captaining his team in the last 2 years.  He won numerous awards including Rookie of the Year his Freshmen season, and also received the team's Dr. Jonathan Millen award, given to the player who best demonstrates leadership on and off the ice in his Senior season.  Tomcomes to the Wildcats after coaching 2 seasons with William Tennent's Varsity Team.  Tom played his Club hockey with the Wildcats Organization as a player for many years and is looking forward to coming back as a coach.

   
  Ray McNulty - Assistant Coach - ray.mcnulty@wildcatsicehockey.com 
  2012-2013-Coach McNulty comes to the Wildcats after having coached two seasons at Widener University.  He also played four years at Widener and was the captain for two of those seasons.  Ray played for the Wildcats from 2004-06 and at the AAA level for the Mercer Chiefs.

2012-2013- Coach Jeff Montagna will enter his 14th season as a Coach in the DVHL. Last year he led the 16AA team to the DVHL playoffs and 2010 Jeff led his team to the Atlantic District Championship finals.  Jeff has coached at the Peewee, Bantam and Midget Minor/Major Levels over his tenure and has spent the last 6 years at the Midget Minor level.  

Jeff spent his playing years with the Wintersport Royals and captained his 1993 Midget team to the US Nationals .  Coach Montagna also played Varsity hockey for Archbishop Wood from 1990 to 1993. 

Coach Montagna received his Advanced Level 4 Coaching Certification in 2000.

 

Mark Montagna - Assistant Coach mark.montagna@wildcatsicehockey.com

 

2012-2013 - Coach Mark Montagna will enter his 22nd season as a coach in the DVHL.  Mark has coached at mite through midget over his tenure and spent 6 years at the Midget Major level where he led his 2003-04 Major team to the Atlantic Districts.  He has spent the last two years at the midget minor level.  Mark spent his playing years with the Wintersport Royals and ended with the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers Junior B in 1989.  Coach Montagna also played Varsity hockey for Archbishop Wood from 1986 to 1989.

Coach Montagna received his Advanced Level 4 Coaching Certification in 1995.

Brian Bradley - Head Coach brian.bradley@wildcatsicehockey.com 
2012-2013 - Coach Bradley comes to the Wildcats after coaching 12 seasons with the Glaciers.  Brian was an assistant coach at Council Rock North from 1992-97 and is currently the Head coach of Council Rock South's JVAA/B programs.  He has also served as assistant coach on Council Rock South's Varsity Squad.
 
Brian played his youth hockey years with the Glaciers and varsity hockey with Council Rock high school winning the AAA Flyers Cup in 1988.  He played his college career with Southern New Hampshire University where he was the team MVP in 1990 & 1992.
Steve Karl - Assistant Coach steve.karl@wildcatsicehockey.com
Coach Karl is entering his 6th season of coaching in the DVHL. Steve played his youth hockey for the Glaciers and Jr. Flyers. He is a Graduate of Council Rock High School where he captained his team to the Flyers Cup Championship in 1988. He was twice named Bucks County Courier Times player of the year. He also played New Hampton Prep School in New Hampshire as a Post-Graduate. He played collegiate hockey at New Hampshire College (now the University of Southern New Hampshire) and won team MVP in 1991-92. He played at NHC for 3 years before transferring to play his final year at Penn State University. His coaching career began as an assistant under Paul Gilligan at Council Rock North High School where he coached for 10 years. He has also was an assistant coach for West Windsor - Plainsboro High School in Plainsboro NJ. Steve also helped out as an instructor at the Penn State University hockey camp under Joe Batista during his time at Penn State.

  John Fields - Head Coach john.fields@wildcatsicehockey.com
 

2012-2013 Coach John Fields has been coaching for 26 years and has worked with teams from Mini Mite to Junior "B" and will enter his 3rd season with the Wildcats. Over the years John has coached many teams to districts, Silver Sticks Championships and has been to the US Nationals with the Philadelphia Little Flyers Junior "B" as an assistant.

Coach Fields has held positions with Tier 1, Tier 2 and High School Varsity teams which include the Philadelphia Little. Flyers, Valley Forge Minutemen, Old York Road, CEC, Germantown Academy and Pennsbury High School.

 

John G. Fields - Assistant Coach

  2012-2013-Coach Fields played his youth hockey in the DVHL, starting as a Mini Mite at Old York Road, Melody Brook, and finished as a midget at Wissahickon. He played his high school hockey at Germantown Academy going undefeated his entire high school career in the regular season. John started coaching his coaching career at Conwell-Egan High School and then moved to the Wildcats Midget Program
   
  Joseph Fields - Assistant Coach
  2012-2013-Coach Fields started playing in the DVHL at Old York road as a mini mite, he moved to squirt AA at the Valley Forge Minutemen, and eventually made his way to the Philadelphia Little Flyers where he played Pee Wee through Junior "B", there he was part of the MET League championship team that went on to compete in the national tournament. He also played in the EJHL for the Green Mountain Glades for one year and played his college hockey at Franklin Pierce University where he finished his 4 year career as the all time leader in assist, goals, and points; those records still stand today.  Joe also played for the Huntsville Havoc in the Southern Pro League as well.
 
  Bantam A

2012-2013  -
Coach Tye will be entering his 21st season in coaching and his third season at Bantam. Last season Eric led his team to the Atlantic District Championship series. He is an advanced certified Level 4 coach with USA Hockey and is currently the head coach at Council Rock North High School. 

Eric spent his playing career with the Wintersport Royals and played 4 years of Varsity Hockey at Archbishop Wood.  Coach Tye also played played his college hockey at Elmira College in New York state.

 

  Peewee A White
  Steven Boyce - Head Coach  steven.boyce@wildcatsicehockey.com
2012-2013 -
Coach Steve Boyce is a 1985 graduate of Drexel University and has been coaching hockey since the mid 90's.  He has coached from squirt to midget level and most recently spent 7 years with the Wintersport Royals where he coached both light and full travel hockey.  Steve also has 5 years experience as a level two referee.

Coach Nick Boyce played club hockey from squirt to midget for the Wintersport Royals and AA varsity hockey for Bishop McDevitt High School. Nick has several years experience as level 1 referee.  Nick will bring youth and energy to the coaching staff and he connects well with the players.

  Jim Panepresso - Head Coach  jim.panepresso@wildcatsicehockey.com 
2012-2013 -
Coach Panepresso has spent the last two season as coach of the Revolution Mites and the Squirt Patriots.  Jim played for Archbishop Ryan in high school and went on to play two seasons with Penn-State University's ACHA D-2 team.

  Jason Lerner - Assistant Coach jason.lerner@wildcatsicehockey.com 
  2012-2013 - Coach Lerner has been playing the game of hockey for over 30 years including helping to start and playing on the inaugural team at Temple University. He was part of the management team that helped develop and grow the roller hockey program at the Sportsplex in Feasterville, PA. Coach Lerner constantly attends coaches symposiums given by NHL teams all over the Northeast and stays on top of the new techniques being implemented by the USA Hockey & the NHL. His coaching philosophy is simple: Teach kids to play the game, so that they play to the best of their ability and fall in love with the game forever.
