Matt Montagna

2017-18 Coach Matt Montagna will enter his 16th season as a Coach in the DVHL, ending last season an assistant coach with the District Champion 16AA White team. In 2010, Matt led his Midget Major team to the Eastern Pennsylvania Championship and the US National Championship Quarterfinals, and he holds the distinct honor of being the first coach in the history of the club to do so. Over his last 9 years as a coach, Matt’s teams had a combined DVHL record of 137-49-24 in league play with four DVHL Playoff Appearances  (2010, 2011, 2013, 2015) and three Atlantic District Playoff appearances (2007, 2010, 2016). In 2009 and again in 2010 his teams won the Philadelphia Silver Stick championships and made trips to the International Silver Sticks Finals in Newmarket and Sarnia, Ontario ending as semi-finalist in 2010.

Coach Matt spent his playing days with Warwick, Wintersport, and William Tennent High School. Coach Montagna received his Advanced Level 4 Coaching Certification in 2000.  He continues to work with young adults off the ice in our community as a High School teacher in the Souderton School District where he is also the Varsity Head Coach

Eric Tye

Assistant Coach

USA Hockey National Championship Appearances

2017-18 - Coach Eric Tye will be entering his 26th season in coaching and his 21st with the Wildcats. In 2011-12 Eric led his Bantam 14UAA team to the Atlantic District Championship series.  In 2014-15 his 16UAA team qualified for the DVHL playoffs. In 2015-16, his 16AA team became the 1st Wildcats team to finish with an undefeated record in the  DVHL regular season, won the Atlantic District and represented EPA at the USA Hockey National Championships. In 2016-17,Eric lead the 18AA to a DVHL playoff championship, a 2nd place finish in the Atlantic District Championships, and an At-Large bid to the at the USA Hockey National Championships. Coach Tye also lead his 16AA teams to back to back International Silver Sticks Finals appearances in New Market, Ont in 2014-15 and 2015-16. Coach Tye coached Council Rock North High School varsity for 16 years, where he led the team to 16 consecutive Flyers Cup appearances until he retired after the 2015-16 season.

Eric spent his playing career with the Wintersport Royals and was a member of the 1st Jr Flyers team in 1988-89 as well as playing 4 years of Varsity Hockey at Archbishop Wood.  

Coach Tye is an advanced certified Level 4 coach with USA Hockey


Dan Redante

Assistant Coach & Coordinator

2017-18 Coach Dan is entering his 7th year of coaching. Last year, he led his Bantam 14UA National team to the DVHL Playoffs. Dan brings 20+ years of playing experience. He played his youth hockey in the DVHL, NJYHL and AYHL at the AAA and AA levels. He also played two years in the Empire Junior League for Tri-State Selects and was voted team captain the second year.

Dan earned his Level 4 coaching certification in 2010.

Gianni Lafratta

Head Coach

2017-2018 Coach Gianni Lafratta is entering his first season as a Wildcats coach, and his 13th season behind the bench. Gianni's tenure includes: Head Coach of East Stroudsburg University ACHA D-III (5 seasons), Assistant Coach and Goaltending Coach of Hatboro-Horsham Varsity Ice Hockey (4 seasons), and Head Coach of Hatboro-Horsham Middle School (3 seasons), which recently defended their championship title (Middle School B in 2015-2016 and Middle School A in 2016-2017).

In addition to coaching, he was President of the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference (DVCHC) for two seasons, as well as Captain of the ACHA D-III East Stroudsburg University ice hockey team.

Gianni is a Level 4 Accredited Coach
